about us

Barbara Maccaroni, a raw food chef, nutritionist and Chopra Certified Yoga Instructor, owns and operates B Love, a raw food catering company nestled in Hamilton’s waterfront district. Her background in nutrition enables her to contribute valuable information to menu planning, to answer specific questions and to address individual concerns.

The main component in each of Barbara’s food creations is Love, and this, combined with the best ingredients, makes for an enjoyable and healthy food experience. Clearly, this taste for health, nutrition and vitality ripples out in all her offerings. Barbara chooses to be sustainable with every choice that she makes,

Barbara has a passion for helping others through coaching, teaching and sharing her knowledge. This also empowers her students by giving them the tools to become more self-sufficient.

Barbara has facilitated many workshops related to a variety of health-related topics, including several at Goodness Me!, a local health food store. Barbara now hosts workshops in her home which allow participants to bring raw food preparation skills into their own homes.

Barbara enjoys gardening, culture, the outdoors, and contributing her services to causes that make a difference within her community.

“We prepare fresh, nutritious, convenient, small meals and snacks, and we are enthusiastic to provide people with a delightful taste experience whilst sharing that food in its natural state – a state that has the ability to restore harmony to the body.”

Peter Ormond is a Mechanical Engineer with a Masters degree in Environmental Engineering and a Queen’s MBA. He has worked in various locations throughout Canada and overseas and has now turned his energy to sustainable initiatives within the community. A Green Party candidate in past elections, Peter currently provides consulting services that help companies to “Green” their operations. Other roles includes Steering Committee Member for the Hamilton Car Share Cooperative, and active supporter (dishwasher and “whatever it takes”) of B.Love Raw Food catering.

“Sustainability can be achieved by taking real steps that empower citizens and foster local leadership. These actions will benefit the health and vitality of families and communities by acknowledging the interdependency of the economy, society and the environment. Canadians, including Hamiltonians are ready for progressive leadership to rethink old habits and step into new realms of possibility.”

Joan Krygsman's educational background ranges from linguistics to accounting to art to film and television through to anthropology and even vocal training, while her career has followed a similarly circuitous path. Currently Joan is the CEO of the local Green Party, and she supports a number of local businesses (including B.Love) in the role of graphic and web designer. Joan often operates within the barter system - a welcome option for many businesses in today’s challenging economy.

“In my design work, I encourage my clients to follow the proven precept of thinking globally (web design) and acting locally (graphic and print design). The combination creates a truly sustainable marketing solution.”
